A terminal at Gatwick Airport has been evacuated due to a security incident.
Passengers cannot enter West Sussex Airport's South Terminal while an investigation is underway at 10:55 GMT on Friday, Gatwick said.
“The safety and security of our passengers and staff remains our top priority,” an airport spokesperson said.
Train services also do not stop at Gatwick Airport station until further notice.
The airport said the evacuation was a precautionary measure as it continued to investigate a security incident.
“Passengers will not be able to enter the South Terminal during this period,” the spokesperson said.
“We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
National Rail said no services would call at Gatwick Airport while police dealt with an incident.
A Southern spokesperson advised passengers not to travel to Gatwick.
“Currently the train station and airport are being evacuated while police deal with an incident,” he said.
“We recommend that you delay your travel until later this morning.”
Thameslink, Southern and Gatwick Express services are affected.
