“Hi, anybody here? We're going, we're going,” can be heard in the available police recording. The officers of Bydgoszcz broke the door, entered the smoke-filled apartment and took out two people who could not move. Everything was recorded by a police camera.
On Thursday, the officer on duty received information about smoke from one of the buildings on Skorupki Street in Bydgoszcz. Petty sergeants were dispatched to the scene. Mateusz Ribsleger and Senior Sgt. Karol Rygelsky.
– the guard went to the indicated street. There they noticed a house with smoke coming out of it. Then, after an efficient search of the property, they identified the exact room where the threat occurred. One of the officers broke down the door, the chief said. Przemysław Slomski from the provincial police headquarters in Bydgoszcz.
In the footage provided by the police, thick smoke can be seen coming out of the room. “Hello, is anyone there? We're going, we're going!” – was heard in the film.
They saved a woman and a man
When police arrived, they found a woman lying in the hallway unable to move.
– The staff took him out. During this time, they received information that there was a second person in the room. The police started to investigate again. It turned out that there was another room next to the corridor, which was slightly closed with a door. Looking inside, police saw a man lying on the ground and the source of the fire, Slomski added.
The man could not move on his own. The police dragged the injured man into the corridor, and then they took him out together with the firemen.
The injured man and woman were taken to the doctors. According to the press officer, their lives are not in danger.
