Romanian presidential election. Marcel Ciolak in the middle
Some results of the first round of Romania's presidential election have been revealed. I counted over 80%, and the number one on the committee is Karin Georgescu, an independent. The second photo shows the current Prime Minister, Marcel Ciolak.
Romania's Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) reported that almost 84.26 percent of votes were counted after counting the votes. The committee in the first round of the presidential election is headed by Karin Georgescu, an independent candidate who can expect 22.06 percent. Current Prime Minister Marcel Ciolak of the Social Democratic Party came in second place (21.88%).
In third place was Eleny Rascon, president of the center-right Union of Salvation of Romania (USR), with 15.44%. George Simion – leader of the radical right party AUR was in fourth place (14.8%).

“Regardless of the political choice, Romanians are behind the results obtained by each candidate,” Ciolak said, thanking those who voted for him. He announced that he would like to talk to other candidates and gather “good suggestions” from the election results.

Previously, the results of the exit poll were published on the following site: 19th (2 hours before polling stations close). The order of candidates in the first round is as follows: Ciolacu (25%), Lasconi (18%), Georgescu (16%), Simion (15%).
The second election will be held on December 8th.
