150 kilometers per hour
The French weather agency Meteo-France issued a strong wind warning across the country on Sunday. In the south-west, in the department of Pyrenees and Atlantic, on Sunday night to Dushanbe, winds up to 150 kilometers per hour are expected. In the valleys, the wind blows up to 80-90 km/h.
The hazardous weather is expected to continue through at least Monday. A level 2 weather warning is in effect in six central French departments. They will affect communication in the region – the operator SNCF has decided to stop the connection of morning trains from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand, where an orange alert is in effect from midnight. Trains also do not run between Lyon and Saint-Etienne. In Villeurbanne, which is located on the outskirts of Lyon, it was forbidden to enter the city's parks and cemeteries.
Bert arrived in France days after Hurricane Caetano knocked out power to 270,000 households in the northern part of the country. The effect of the element was removed on Saturday. The power outage also stranded around a thousand passengers on trains – some spending nearly 9 hours in stationary carriages.
