Karol Nawrocki has his achievements, but he has nothing to do with the party struggle – this is what Janusz Cieszynski, a member of the party, said about the PiS presidential candidate in “Facti po factach” on TVN24. Referring to the candidate's speech, Andrzej Halicki, a member of parliament from the Civic Alliance, concluded with these words: “I read what I had to say. The text was written by President Kaczynski. Thank you for electing me.”
Karol Navroki, head of the Institute of National Remembrance, became a candidate for law and justice sciences in the 2025 presidential election. PiS presents Nawrocki as a “citizen” and “non-partisan” candidate. He is not a member of Law and Justice or any other party. The president of the National Memorial Institute is prohibited from doing this by law.

Cieszński: Navroki is an unusual person
PiS's decision on the candidate was explained on the TVN24 channel by Andrzej Halicki, a member of parliament from the Civic Alliance and Janusz Cieszynski, a member of parliament from PiS.
– On the one hand, Karol Navrotsky is a candidate who has a very strong background in our history as the president of the Institute of National Remembrance, he knows where we come from, but he is also a candidate for the future, – Tsieshinsky said.
-His colleagues wrote something that I personally liked very much: he founded the “Future National Institute” from the Institute of National Memory. Because he knew that with our history, difficult and sometimes very difficult, but one of which we are proud of, and he knew how to enter the future with it, he added.

– I think, these things indicate that he is an unusual, educated man, (he – ed.) has the experience of managing a large institution. I think (he – ed.) just a very good candidate and I think we will get to know him even better in the coming months, he added. Tsieshinsky also assessed that Navrotsky “is a person who has his successes, but is not connected with the party conflict.”

Halicki: Nawrocki's speech included quotes directly from Kaczynski
Andrzej Halicki, for his part, said that he “does not value” Nawrocki's candidacy and that it should be treated “with respect”.
He also directly addressed Navrotsky's speech. – I don't like this structure where the candidate mainly thanks the president first. I would describe the entire speech as a text: “I read what I had to say. The text was written by President Kaczynski. Thank you for electing me.” This is his citizenship, he continued.
Khalitsky stated that the candidate's speech included “direct quotations from the speeches of Yaroslav Kaczynski”. – I don't think that we and the audience, I mean, should not be deceived for the second time by something that is completely against the civility, he said.
The European representative also referred to Nawrotsky's announcement that he wants to end the “Poland-Poland war”. – In this speech, the tone of Yaroslav Kaczynski, who divided Poles into better and worse types, was visible, – he said.
