Ukrainian forces attacked an oil refinery in the city of Kaluga in Russia's European region at night. Local residents reported a series of explosions on social media. Footage from the scene shows a large fire and clouds of smoke.
The first information about the explosion at the refinery appeared on Russian social media channels shortly after midnight Polish time. Video materials published by users showed the operation of the anti-aircraft defense system.
Despite the series of shots, subsequent explosions were recorded every few tens of seconds.

Reports of shelling were confirmed by the governor of the Kaluga region, Władysław Szapša. The politician reported on his social media channels that air defense forces shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles.
“A fire broke out at the sinking site on the premises of an industrial enterprise. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. Officials of the Ministry of Emergencies and the task force are working on the scene,” he wrote.

For months, the Ukrainian military has been using drones to regularly attack critical infrastructure on the territory of the Russian Federation. On November 19, representatives of the Russian authorities reported shelling in several districts.
As Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced, the drones targeted also included power lines and infrastructure facilities. According to unofficial information, the target of the attack was a factory belonging to EFKO, one of the largest companies in Russia's agro-industrial complex.
At about the same time, the head of the Voronezh oblast government, Oleksandr Gusev, announced an attack by five drones on industrial enterprises. It is known that there was an explosion at the scene.
