The building's surveillance camera captured the moment the plane lands and then disappears behind the hall, followed by an explosion, sending fireballs and clouds of black smoke over the city. According to the AP news agency, for reasons still unclear, the plane crashed while approaching the landing and fell in one of the districts of Vilnius and crashed into a residential building. It was a SWIFT transport plane working for DHL and flying from Leipzig, Germany to Vilnius. According to the Delfi portal in Lithuania, there were four people inside the plane – two pilots and two DHL employees. It is known that the life of one of the pilots could not be saved. Shortly after the media report, the Lithuanian police announced that three families live in the building where the plane crashed. Firefighters evacuated 12 people and no one was injured. Emergency responders and police are still working at the scene to secure the area and help victims.
