National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the United States takes Russia's threats against the Redzikovo base seriously. – President Joe Biden is strict on this issue. We will do everything we can to ensure the safety of our soldiers on the European continent. And it is equally important that we take our obligations under Article V (NATO treaty – ed.) to our NATO allies very seriously. It's undeniable and it's not going to change, Kirby said.

Questions about Ukraine's use of ATACMS systems
During Monday's briefing, a spokesman for the National Security Council also appeared to publicly confirm for the first time that the US had authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS ballistic missiles inside Russia. According to him, Ukraine effectively uses these missiles “for self-defense in times of need” and currently this also applies to the areas “in the Kursk region and its surroundings”.
– I let the Ukrainians know how they use ATACMS and the procedure for selecting targets, what they use them for and how well they perform, but nothing has changed (…) well, we have changed the rules . so they can achieve these specific goals,” Kirby said.
Until now, representatives of the US administration have consistently refused to confirm information about changes in policy regarding the use of ATACMS, although the Ukrainian side openly talked about strikes using these missiles.
