At approximately 12:30 p.m., an accident occurred between Bednary and Sochachev stations, as a result of which the intercity train from Bydgoszcz to Lublin derailed. – The truck went over the protected railway crossing and collided with a fast moving train. Now we have information about three people who were slightly injured, – says Karol Jakubovsky from PKP PLC.
The incident happened at the crossing near Nova-Sucha. Karol Jakubowski reports that the crossing at this point is equipped with barriers and signals. – We don't know why the truck driver got on the rail. According to my information, the car appeared on the tracks before the high-speed passenger train was moving, he said.
PKP PLK reports that at least three people were injured in an accident at the volunteer fire station in Nova Sucha
As a result of this incident – as told by the interlocutor of tvn24.pl – three people who were traveling by train received minor injuries.
According to the fire department, the driver of the truck was not seriously injured and got out of his car.
There were 125 people in the train
The regional headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw informs that there were 125 people in the derailed train – 120 passengers and 5 train employees.
Six fire brigades are working at the scene. Firefighters report that as a result of this incident, the first car of the passenger train derailed.
They organize alternative transport
The derailed train was traveling from Bydgoszcz Głowna station to Lublin. The carrier is intercity.
– The accident happened on the route connecting Warsaw and Poznan. Railway traffic is currently suspended. Long-distance trains will change their route and pass through Skiernevice, and passengers will be informed about this. Karol Jakubowski said the carrier is arranging replacement transportation for people who were involved in the accident.
