A man jumped from a moving roller coaster at an amusement park in Arizona. He claims he did it when the security that kept him in place was fired. “I only had seconds to act, whether to stay or jump,” he told local media, which also released footage of the incident.
The incident happened on Sunday at the Castles N'Coasters amusement park in Phoenix, Arizona. The recording published by the American media shows how one of the passengers of the helicopter suddenly jumps out of his seat and slowly rises.
He jumped from a moving helicopter
This man, who wanted to remain anonymous, claims that he celebrated his niece's birthday that day. When he boarded a train called the Desert Storm, whose cars are traveling at high speed, including overturning two loops, he realized that the security that was holding him in place had suddenly failed.
“We started going up and then you hear the sound of the chain pulling the cable cars,” he told local station KPNX. – When we were almost to the top, I heard another sound as the chain pulled us inside. I checked my barrier again and it is complete, he says.
In this situation, the frightened man decided to jump from the moving cable to the technical ladder that runs along the route of the car. He believes it could save his life. “I only had seconds to act, whether I stayed or jumped,” he told KPNX.

“The worst thing here is the neglect”
He claims that after getting into the car, he remembers the safety device “clicking” as he put it on, but no park staff checked that it was properly closed afterwards. The employees also did not notice that he jumped from the queue and hit the ground. Because of this, someone stops the attraction. The man said that he informed the park authorities about the incident in writing. – I think the most terrible thing here is their neglect and complete indifference during this time, – he says.
NBC News reached out to Castles N'Coasters park officials for comment, but had not received a response as of press time.
