According to Novigny's website, authorities have confirmed that since the spring they have identified individuals suspected of sending bomb threats to various institutions, including schools, universities and courts.

This threat also applies to local critical infrastructure, it added, which also relates to Tuesday's police intervention in Mikhalovka. In addition to the Ukrainian national, another man with Slovak and Hungarian nationalities was also detained in the city. They are still in police custody.

However, the head of the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS) stressed that there were more suspects. “We are observing a long-term, coordinated operation by a group of people who may carry out intelligence activities,” Pablo Gaspar said.
Slovakia's Interior Minister Matus Staj Estok added that the protection of critical infrastructure on Slovak territory will be strengthened.
