GOPR rescuers and Tatra National Park service warn of difficult conditions on mountain trails. It is freezing under the snow and heavy rain is falling in some places.
In the near future, it will be difficult to walk in the mountains. Snow, rain and snow are predicted in many places. This, combined with the low temperatures, causes ice on the trails, especially in the higher parts of the mountains.

“The roads are covered with snow and blown, many of them are not paved, and their route is not visible above the upper line of the forest. We advise not to go to the upper parts of the mountains today,” said the National Tatra Authority. Park.
The Tatra region, where TPN is located, is also covered by IMWM level one snow warnings. Meteorologists at the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management have predicted snowfall there, which has led to an increase of 15 to 25 centimeters of snow in areas above 800 meters above sea level. The warning will remain in effect until at least midnight on Saturday.
Beskids. Tourists should be well prepared
Unfavorable conditions also occur in the Beskids, where the temperature is almost 0 degrees. There will be some frost in the highlands.
– It snows a lot at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. Within 24 hours it increased by 20 cm in Markove Shzavini and 12 cm in Hala Mitsiova. It is raining and snowing below. The weather is completely cloudy and the visibility is limited from 500 to 1000 meters, – says the rescuer on duty of the GOPR group Beskidzka from Shchirk station.
Skiers are taking advantage of the winter weather and on Friday they can go down the slopes of Beli Krij between Szyrk and Vistula. Currently, this is the only resort in the Beskids that has a ski lift. Tourists who go hiking in the mountains should be well prepared. Warm shoes and clothing are especially important. Sticks and sticks will come in handy. The phone must be charged and the “Rescue” program installed. Experts advise that a flashlight is useful.
