Initially, the incident was classified as vandalism. However, investigators will look into it.
“We insist that all incidents against the Russian embassy be thoroughly and impartially investigated and that the perpetrators be found and brought to justice,” the Russian embassy in Sweden said in a statement.
Investigators will look into whether the incident was somehow connected to the vandalism that took place in Moscow the day before. A bottle was thrown into the Swedish embassy. Graffiti also appeared on the walls.
“It is a serious matter that our embassy becomes the target of vandalism,” a spokesperson for Sweden's foreign ministry said in a statement sent to Reuters.
