The Unite union has threatened to cut supplies of turkeys to supermarkets over Christmas.
He said he was taking the action in protest at Shropshire-based logistics company Culina, which he said had failed to offer its delivery drivers a pay rise.
Around forty of its members were preparing to strike on December 19 and 20.
Culina's contract is with Avara Foods in Hereford, which delivers poultry from abattoirs to warehouses owned by Tesco and Marks and Spencer.
The Unite union has warned there could be a “Christmas turkey shortage” due to its planned industrial action and that families “could see empty tables this Christmas”.
He accuses Culina of playing the role of Scrooge and says: “Despite wage negotiations since April, no offers have been made to the drivers who have had no choice but to take industrial action.”
The union also warned that additional strike dates could be announced if the company does not return to the negotiating table with an improved offer.
Culina and Avara were approached by the BBC for a response.
The logistics company is part of the Müller Group headquartered in Market Drayton.
