More than 220 victims of the October flood in Spain were buried in Valencia. The ceremony was attended by King Philip VI, Queen Letizia and hundreds of relatives of the victims.
The Mass celebrated at the initiative of the Archdiocese of Valencia was broadcast through the mass media. In the central part of the church, seats were reserved for about 400 close relatives of the victims.

Pilar Bernabé, the representative of the government in the Community of Valencia, announced on Saturday that he will organize a public event to pay tribute to the victims of the floods. The politician said that providing an exact date would delay the search for four people.

Flooding in Spain
As a result of the tragic floods that occurred in the south and east of Spain at the end of October, more than 220 people died, most of them in the province of Valencia. The floods destroyed nearly 120,000 vehicles and over 1,600 homes. Spanish media say that a month after the natural disaster, the situation in the affected cities remains dire.

In recent weeks, the government of Pedro Sánchez announced an aid package for affected households and companies totaling 14.36 billion euros.
