Father and son both admitted in court to threatening Michael Schumacher's family. They threatened to release before and after photos of the driver's accident in 2013. The other man, a former security guard who worked for a former F1 driver and his relatives, has been charged. However, he insisted it was not his fault.
The father and son, Yilmaz T. and Daniel L., pleaded guilty in a court in Wuppertal, western Germany, on Tuesday, local RTL television station reported.
They allegedly blackmailed the family of seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher by publishing private photos from different times in his life, before and after his 2013 skiing accident.

A third man, Marcus F., who was accused of providing the photos to the other two, also appeared in court but pleaded not guilty.
Until 2021, he worked as a security guard at the Schumacher family estate in Switzerland, so he could be a person of interest in the case. At that time, he allegedly took photos and sold them to the two aforementioned individuals for a “five-figure sum.”

They then decided to publicly blackmail the family and demanded 15 million euros. They even sent “evidence” – personal photos – to one of Schumacher's current employees.
The trial is expected to continue for several more weeks, and the court has scheduled a total of five hearings until mid-February next year.
