The Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that a memo had been passed to Poland's Chargé d'Affaires Krzysztof Ojana.
The state agency BelTA reported that the cause was “an incident in which the Republic of Moldova attempted to recruit a Belarusian diplomat.”
The independent Zielkało portal on Tuesday claimed in state television broadcast materials that “Polish special forces were allegedly trying to persuade a Belarusian diplomat to cooperate for 100,000 euros” and that the event took place in Chisinau. He wrote that he claims that he was raped.
Zyelkało called the situation a “clear accident” and quoted a representative of the KGB (Committee of State Security) who announced that “there will definitely be a reaction from the Belarusian side.”
Citing Zyelkawo, Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Anatol Fraz said he had “violated many international regulations.” Khvaz sent a letter announcing that he would take “other measures that the Belarusian side is seriously considering.”
