Source: TVN24 – The beginning of the construction of the Warsaw agglomeration ring, the expansion of the railway network and the expansion of the Chopin airport – such plans of the capital were raised on Wednesday by the Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak on the occasion of the conclusion of the ministry's work year.
– The beginning of the construction of the agglomeration of the roundabout of the metropolis of Warsaw, which many people and the economy of Poland are waiting for, is a very important investment task. This is also an expansion of the railway network with new routes, and we have prepared such a plan, – said Dariusz Klimczak.

Expansion of airports is planned
He also included civil aviation reform as a task. – We intend to change the activity of the Civil Aviation Authority on the example of modern institutions operating, for example, in Europe. This is also the expansion of airports. We need to generate adequate traffic for the new and most modern airport in Europe, – said Klimczak.
He added that within a few days, the ministry will present the plan for the expansion of Chopin Airport in Warsaw. As the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure said, the ministry is also facing legislative problems.
– We are at the stage of developing the assumptions of the document on the improvement of the investment process. “In Poland, investment processes take a long time and therefore are too costly and expensive not only for the entities that implement them, but also for the administration and, above all, for those who are waiting for investment,” Klimczak said. .

The number of railway passengers increased
The Minister of Infrastructure announced that he expects the number of passengers transported by rail to increase to about 410 million this year, of which about 80 million will be transported by PKP Intercity. Last year, 374.4 million people used the railway service, of which 68 million people used the intercity PKP.
– This year, “PKP Intercity” was more than last year's result already in November, and by the end of the year we expect about 80 million passengers who used PKP Intercity. There will be about 410 million passengers in all rail traffic, Klimczak said.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka announced that at the end of next year, the capacity of transporting grain in Gdańsk will reach 1.5 million tons, in 2026 it will reach two million tons, and a year later it will reach three million tons. tons per year.
– In the coming years, we intend to allocate half a billion zlotys for reloading the equipment of this terminal, modernizing the stations, updating the railway and railway infrastructure, – said Marchevka. – In 2025, we have achieved a record amount of more than 2 billion PLN for the maritime economy, which is more than 37% more than this year, – he added.
What about a central communication port?
Maciej Lasek, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, who was present at the conference, announced that bids for the construction of a tunnel under Łódź for high-speed railways will be opened this month.
He added that the multi-year program of the central communication port for 2024-2032 will be discussed at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers this month. – This shows that the coalition government of October 15 is very realistic about this investment, which is the construction of the port of central communication, – he added.
“Next year, a record budget of PLN 60 billion is planned for the ministry,” said Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Przemysław Kopersky.
