The Supreme Council of the Polish People's Party loudly adopted a resolution to support the candidacy of the Speaker of the Seimas, Szymon Kholunia, in the next year's presidential elections.
On Saturday, the Supreme Council of the Polish People's Party gathered in Paprotnia (Sochaczewski County, Masovian Voivodeship) and decided to support the candidacy of the Speaker of the Sejm, the leader of Poland-2050, Szymon Holovnia in the presidential elections. The leader of the People's Party, deputy prime minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysh said at the beginning of the meeting that the merger of PSL and Poland 2050 had a positive effect. – Without this, we would not have won the election, and this is extremely important. Then we agreed on a certain scenario of the elections: we will start with the parliamentary elections and the final one will be the presidential elections, he added.
– And it is very important that we can act fairly and be united, – stressed the head of the PSL.

Holouniya: I ask you to support my vision of the presidency
Later, before the People's Party made a decision, Shimon Kholunia spoke.
– Today I have come to ask you, as the public of the Polish People's Party, as its highest body, who is sitting here in front of me, to support my opinion about the president, my candidacy. This is very important to me because none of the things I deeply believed in when I founded this movement, which I started right after the 2020 election campaign, nothing has changed in that motivation, nothing in this diagnosis has changed. nothing has changed – he said.
He added that he still believes that “salvation for Poland today lies in this diversity.” – In order for it to become multi-centered and not just a field of constant battle between two political camps, which have taken a large part of Poland hostage, – he added.

Holouniya: The president should be a person who can unite the nation
– Today, as Vladyslav Kosniak-Kamys said, are we participating in a coalition with one of the two great polarizing powers? Yes. Why? Because it is good for Poland. Because the coalition government on October 15 will be good for Poland for not one, but two terms. This will be a government that is good for Poland, said the Speaker of the Seimas.
– But the president should be a person who can unite the nation around great challenges and at the same time be a challenge for the government, not put obstacles in its way, veto everything or sign everything, but be an invitation to it. government, it shows what people expect today. Help the government see a perspective that is much easier and better to see from your workplace – Holovnya continued.
