Vlad, Oleg and Yaroslav – these are Ukrainian soldiers, all traces of which have been lost. A year ago, we told their story on TVN “Fakti”. Today, life adds a tragic epilogue to these events, which have one thing in common – the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War is a piece of paper for the Russians.
We met with Lieutenant Vlad at the front in Donbass before the Russian invasion. He claimed that if they attack the Ukrainians, they will prepare a second Chechnya for the Russians. – I don't want the destruction of Ukrainians – the great famine to happen again. I don't want that. I am ready to die and kill for this, said Lieutenant Vladislav Bulyj in February 2022.
Ukraine became hell for the Russians, but the young officer also predicted his future. He went missing in the first weeks of the war. More than 900 days – that's how long his parents waited for information about his fate. This summer, Ukrainians found the young officer's DNA while examining the bodies of soldiers offered by the Russians as part of their exchange.
