– We want to significantly strengthen the interests of Europeans. So far, Europe has been forced to pursue US interests. We reject that, Churupala said in an interview published on the Die Welt newspaper's website on Sunday.
– NATO is not currently a defense alliance. The defense community must accept and respect the interests of all European countries, including those of Russia. If NATO cannot provide this, Germany needs to consider how useful this alliance will still be, the AfD leader noted.
Asked about the demand for Germany to leave the European Union (EU), which was included in the AfD's draft election plan, Chulpala stressed that this was the “maximum demand”.
The AfD leader pointed out that the draft platform also refers to replacing the EU with an “economic and community of interests.” – Clear rules for the new organization need to be agreed before we leave (the EU), he added.
The draft platform is scheduled to be approved at the party's convention in January.

Churupala said that providing Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine would mean Germany's entry into the war. In his opinion, “anyone who votes for Merz chooses war.”
Friedrich Merz is the candidate for chancellor of the Christian Democratic party CDU/CSU bloc in the early federal elections to be held on February 23, 2025.
– The German government must finally make the decision to end the war. Russia won this war. Churupala said reality has caught up with those who wanted to lead Ukraine to victory.
Germany. One in five Germans will vote for the AfD.
The AfD's other co-chair, Alice Weidel, is the right-wing populist, pro-Russian group's candidate for prime minister.
Pre-election polls put the AfD at 17-20 percent support, second only to the CDU/CSU coalition's 30-34 percent.
The Sovereign States of Europe, a political group in the European Parliament led by the AfD, includes three members of the Polish Federation.
