In the new year, Warsaw residents will pay less tax for parking in garages in multi-storey buildings. The municipality announces that the new rates will be automatically calculated by officials. Residents will learn about them in the tax decisions for 2025.
Changes in the taxation of garages in multi-storey residential buildings will come into effect on January 1, 2025. The Metropolitan Municipality explains that they will be introduced by the Law on Amendments to the Agricultural Tax Law, the Law on Local Taxes and Fees and the Stamp Duty Law, which were passed in November this year. “According to the new regulation, the rate of tax reduction will be applied to the rooms intended for storage of vehicles, located in residential buildings, which are not used for business,” said the press release of the authorities.
How to check the new garage tax rate?
The municipality announces that due to the change in regulations, residents do not need to submit an IN-1 form or any additional letters or declarations to the office. The current rates are calculated automatically based on the data collected in the unified tax system. “The office has access to information on real estate. In this context, in January 2025, new tax decisions will be issued with reduced rates, which can be seen in the details of the calculation in the decision,” the authorities emphasize.
Residents will receive tax rulings for 2025 by traditional mail or email. The manner of their delivery depends only on the form of communication with the office chosen by the taxpayer. All the details related to the tax calculation, including the rate used, can be found in the decision.
Officials announce that the tax rulings will begin on January 2, 2025, taking into account the new tax rates.
