The Hungarian government on Thursday granted political asylum to PiS lawmaker Marcin Romanovski, a suspect in the Justice Fund investigation.

Romanowski's lawyer, Bartosz Lewandowski, said granting the former deputy minister's request was related to “violations of his rights and freedoms by the Polish government and its subordinate state prosecutor's office.” Explained.

On December 6, Marcin Romanowski was discharged from the medical facility where he underwent a planned septum correction surgery. Therefore, an arrest warrant was issued for the politician, and on Thursday the Warsaw District Court issued a European arrest warrant for Marcin Romanowski.
