Apocalyptic scenes are unfolding in Los Angeles County, where wildfires have caused catastrophic damage and forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes. Photos of destroyed buildings show how destructive this element is.
There are five fires burning in Los Angeles County: the Hearst Fire, the Lydia Fire, the Eaton Fire, the Kenneth Fire, and the largest of them, the Palisades Fire. The latter consumed the area of Miami (the area of the city is 143.1 square kilometers). According to the American channel CNN, at least 10 people died as a result of the natural disaster.
On Friday, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said about 153,000 residents were under evacuation orders.

costliest fire in US history?
According to Los Angeles County Property Appraiser Jeff Prang, at least 10,000 buildings have been destroyed by the fire, and many more are expected in the coming days.
According to Daniel Swain, a climate scientist at the University of California, Palisades, the fire near the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, where most of the American celebrities live, may be the costliest fire in American history. “The Palisades fire is likely to be not only the costliest fire in California’s history, but the nation’s costliest,” he said.
