In Strasbourg, in eastern France, around 50 people were injured on Saturday when two trams collided in a tunnel near a railway station. Preliminary findings allowed us to exclude the hypothesis of intentional behavior, the prosecutor’s office said.
Earlier, the prefecture informed about 20 injured people, their condition is not life-threatening. More recently, about 50 people were slightly injured by rescue services. They also reported that about 100 people escaped the accident unharmed. Passenger injuries were broken bones or broken vertebrae.

In Strasbourg, where the seats of the European Parliament and the European Council are located, the tram network, which was closed 30 years ago, was restored in 1994. After 1994, no serious accidents were registered there.
