Tesla, owned by Elon Musk, announced a voluntary recall of more than 239,000 electric vehicles. This is a flaw that can affect traveler safety. This recall affects Model 3 vehicles manufactured in 2024 and 2025, and Model S, X, and Y models manufactured from 2023 to 2025.
This recall is due to a software issue that could cause the rearview cameras on these vehicles to malfunction. A small number of recalled vehicles also have computer short-circuit issues, increasing the risk of crashes.
Tesla discovered the problem on November 21, when car computers were replaced due to short circuits, and began taking action.

UPI reported that Tesla engineers investigated the accident from November 26th to December 20th. During our analysis, we found, among other things: A combination of low battery supply voltage, a software glitch in the recalled vehicle, and low outdoor temperatures caused the secondary current voltage to rise. This phenomenon, called induced voltage, caused a short circuit in the affected components.

To date, this issue has resulted in 887 warranty claims and 68 reports. Tesla said it has not yet received any reports of crashes, injuries or fatalities related to these issues.
On December 18, the company rolled out a software update to recalled vehicles that was distributed via wireless network. There is no additional cost to the owner. According to Tesla, the short circuit issue should be resolved without further action.

Tesla has had several crashes in the past, although not on the scale it is now. Among others, there were: Cases in which a vehicle’s battery fails, leading to fire or other damage.
There were also problems with the autopilot. In some cases, the system did not function properly in difficult road conditions, leading to accidents.

There have also been build quality issues in the past. Early in production, some Tesla models suffered from quality issues such as mismatched body elements, inaccurate interior finishes, and paint issues.
In each case, the company responded quickly and implemented fixes to eliminate the issue.
