Six people were killed and eight others injured in a restaurant fire in Most, northern Bohemia. One of the injured was identified as a fire brigade member. The fire was likely caused by a gas stove tipping over. When services arrived, the entire building was on fire. Approximately 30 people were evacuated.
Late Saturday evening, a large fire broke out at the U Kojota restaurant in Most, Czech Republic. Firefighters were called at 11:17 p.m. Nine fire brigade units were immediately dispatched to the scene. When crews arrived on scene, the entire building was already on fire.

The Usti nad Labem regional fire and rescue department said firefighters immediately began extinguishing the fire and a search team was sent inside to rescue trapped customers. A total of about 30 people were evacuated from the restaurant and nearby premises.

Unfortunately, we were unable to save several lives. Six people were killed in the fire, and a further eight were injured, six seriously and two with “moderate” injuries. One firefighter was also injured.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Most, Usice na Rabe and Praga.

The source of the fire was discovered around 1 a.m. According to the fire department, the accident was likely caused by a gas water heater falling over. This incident is under investigation.
Czech media reported that Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Vit Raksan and the Czech Police Chief were expected to arrive on Sunday morning.
