The Polish government has adopted a resolution stating that it will ensure the free and safe participation of Israeli dignitaries in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. Earlier, President Andrzej Duda addressed Donald Tusk regarding the Israeli Prime Minister, who is being prosecuted by the ICC.
The “Times of Israel” website, citing an adviser to the prime minister, wrote on Thursday that Netanyahu currently has no plans to attend the celebration. The spokesman of the ministry said that Israel will be represented at this ceremony by the Minister of Education Yoav Kish.

He added that “the prime minister’s colleagues say that if it were not for this letter from the president, the government’s decision about Netanyahu probably would not have been made. He also mentioned that the prime minister’s office rejected “journalists’ questions” about Netanyahu. Piotr Krasko, in turn, said that the “Washington Times” newspaper published a very harsh article criticizing Deputy Minister Bartoszewski, who, according to the “Washington Times” newspaper, announced that Benjamin Netanyahu would be arrested if he came to Poland. – Bartoshevsky explained that he did not say such a thing and at this stage the issue is basically over, – the journalist reported.

Tusk: There are issues that need to be handled carefully

According to him, this “small crisis” was caused by President Andrzej Duda’s “ignoring the national interests of Poland regarding the possible theoretical visit of the Prime Minister of Israel.” – The government is quietly working with the Israelis in this regard to avoid any theoretical mishaps, – said the deputy.
