To extort the money, the scammers pretended that the 61-year-old actor needed money for kidney treatment and that his bank account was frozen because of his divorce proceedings from Angelina Jolie. To lend credibility to the whole story, the scammers sent photos from their investigative efforts. They also falsified medical records by impersonating doctors.

The 53-year-old already has mental health issues and separated from her husband over his alleged affair. After the fraud was discovered, she had to be hospitalized and is still battling depression.
A report about a woman who was deceived was broadcast by TF1 over the weekend. She then uploaded the material to her website. After just 24 hours she had to have it removed. “Anne has been vilified on social media, so we thought it would be best to remove the report,” the show’s producers told Le Parisien.

This is not the first time this kind of situation has occurred. Last year, two Spanish women sent $325,000 to a scammer. I believed Euro had something to do with Brad Pitt. Fake actors persuaded women to make bank transfers to fund non-existent companies and initiatives. Blinded by the promise of a future with the star, the victims transferred large sums of money without hesitation. One woman was defrauded of 175,000 zlotys. The second person lost 150,000 euros.
Ultimately, Spanish police succeeded in arresting five people involved in the procedure.
