The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, criticized the decision of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to restore this Caribbean country to the list of countries sponsoring terrorism. “His goal is to further expand the barbaric economic war against Cuba in order to gain power,” he writes on the X platform.
On Tuesday, the Cuban president wrote on Platform X: “In an act of arrogance and disregard for the truth, President Trump has now reinstated the fraudulent declaration of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism. This is not surprising.” According to him, Trump’s goal is to “further strengthen the brutal economic war against Cuba for domination.”
In another entry, Diaz-Canel recalled that Trump imposed an economic embargo on Cuba during his first term, which caused a shortage of goods on the island. He also referred to Cuban immigration to the United States.

This is the second time that Trump has reversed the decision on Cuba
Cuba was on the list of countries supporting terrorism from 1981 to 2015, when Barack Obama signed an agreement to normalize relations with the communist state. However, this decision was canceled by Donald Trump, who restored some sanctions in 2017, and a week before the end of his first presidential term, he recognized Cuba as a sponsor of terrorism.
Joe Biden, the former president of the USA, announced a few days ago the decision to remove Cuba from the list of countries that support terrorism, because it is expected that a group of “side” political prisoners will be released as a result of negotiations with the participation of the church.
