BBC Travel has prepared a list of the 25 best places in the world to visit in 2025. Tourists are expected to feel welcome in these places and not be overwhelmed by the number of visitors. Dominica was at the top of the ranking.
“Each of these 25 destinations not only welcomes visitors and offers a wonderful travel experience, but also uses tourism to support local communities, protect the environment or protect their unique cultural heritage,” says BBC Travel in its introduction to rating. The list is not only based on the recommendations of travel journalists. Officials in the field of sustainable tourism also expressed their opinions.

Dominica is at the top of the ranking
Dominica took the first place in the list. Its attractions offer: the opportunity to swim with sperm whales, because there is the first world reserve of these marine mammals. Another attraction of this Caribbean country is a cable car that takes passengers from the Rose Valley to Lake Jushani, one of the largest thermal springs in the world.
The Naoshima Island of Japan was also on the podium. It is a place that is loved by both nature lovers and lovers of modern art and architecture. On the island, you can come across the characteristic sculptures of hollowed out pumpkins by Yayoi Kusama and the designs of the famous architect Tadao Ando. Naoshima is located in the Inland Sea of Japan. And since the island is part of Japan’s oldest national park, Seto Naikai, visiting it will be a pleasure for both nature lovers and those who want to learn more about the life of small towns in Japan.

The third place in the ranking is occupied by the Dolomites, a mountain range in the northeastern part of Italy, which is enjoyed not only during the crazy season of winter. Dolomites attract not only skiers. When nature begins to revive in the spring, the local trails are the perfect environment for hiking.
The top five list also includes Greenland, which could become a popular destination in the near future thanks to its new international airport, Nuuk International Airport.
One step down is Wales. The second five include Newfoundland and Labrador – a region in northeastern Canada, Tuscany in Arizona, Western Australia, Sri Lanka and Panama.
