Just a month ago, a decision was made about their military mission in Poland. Norwegian F-35s are here today, helping to protect NATO’s eastern flank. Their pilots are located at the Krzesiny base near Poznań, where they train together with Polish pilots.
This is the best proof of the strength of the North Atlantic Alliance. Norwegian F-35 and Polish F-16 at the 31st Tactical Air Base. Polish and Norwegian soldiers have common exercises, tasks and goals: to protect NATO’s eastern flank.

The contribution of Norwegians to the defense of Poland is special. Not only the fighters of the fifth generation, but also the anti-aircraft defense systems were synchronized with them in Rzeszow.
– Our duties are available 24 hours a day. We have four different types of signals, and if necessary, we quickly dress up, enter the fighters and take off – emphasizes “Morgan”, the commander of the Norwegian mission in Poland.
The first combat mission is behind the Norwegians. Last week, during the Russian bombing of Ukraine, the pilots were protecting the eastern borders of Poland.
The joint flight of fighter jets is also a good opportunity for Polish pilots to get to know the F-35 better. – The F-35’s radars have more capabilities than the F-16’s radar and electronic warfare system, says Bongo. – Moreover, it is a stealth aircraft, which means that it can fly within the range of air systems – he adds.
Norway’s representation in Poland will continue until Easter. Our pilots are already in the United States, training on F-35s. Poland should receive its F-35 next year.
