Piotr Witkowski met with Minister Andrzej Domanski at the Economic Forum in Davos
“EU finance ministers have sent a clear message to the European Commission that swift legislative action is needed,” Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski said at an economic forum in Davos. In a conversation with Polsat News correspondent Piotr Witkowski, he stressed that “Poland is ready” regardless of President Donald Trump’s next decision.
An economic forum is being held in Davos. In the afternoon, new US President Donald Trump will give a speech.
Polsat News correspondent Piotr Witkowski asked Finance Minister Andrei Domanski about the mood before the American leader’s speech.
– Of course we listen to President Donald Trump’s speech. Perhaps he will provide new, interesting and important information, the politician commented.
Andrzej Domanski appealed to the EC. “We need to act quickly.”
The Treasury secretary also took stock of one of the Republicans’ first decisions: withdrawing from the U.S. corporate minimum tax.
– This is clearly a tax that has caused a lot of questions. The United States has made this decision and has every right to do so. We in the European Union have introduced this solution. The purpose is to counter artificial underestimation of taxes by some companies, he explained.

In his opinion, this decision will not be a big blow to the European Union.
– Indeed, our response as a European Union to potential tensions that may arise in our relations with the United States must be common and consistent. Unity is very important to us, he stressed.
