The Russian prosecutor’s office has applied for the extradition of former state television presenter Farida Kurbangaleu. The journalist left his hometown in 2014 as soon as Russia annexed the Crimea Peninsula. She was accused of “spreading false information” about the Russian army.

She currently lives in the Czech Republic, and Moscow has submitted a request for her deportation. It is not officially known what allegations have been filed against the journalists. On the web, she argues that it is about “justifying terrorism” and “spreading misinformation about the military.”

A Moscow court detained her for two months to arrest her on the territory of the Russian Federation, or to extradite the prosecution or deport her.
