A Chinese fighter plane released lighting rockets in front of an Australian military plane while flying over the southern China Sea at the start of this week, the Canberra authorities said.
The Australian Defense Ministry said that he had “expressed his concerns” to his Chinese counterparts on “dangerous and non -professional interaction”.
No one was injured and there was no damage to a P-8A surveillance plane in Australia after Tuesday’s incident, the ministry said.
This is the last of a series of meetings between the soldiers of the two countries in the region, where the vast statements of China on the islands and the outcrops overlap with those of its neighbors.
Although it has no pretension to the Southern China Sea, Australia has aligned itself near the United States and its allies by saying that China’s claims have no legal basis.
“Australia expects all countries, including China, operating their soldiers safely and professional,” the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
In May of last year, Australia accused a Chinese fighter plane of dropping light rockets near an Australian navy helicopter which was part of a mission of the United Nations Security Council on the sea Yellow.
In November 2023, Canberra accused Beijing Navy of using Sonar pulses in international waters off Japan, causing Australian divers with injuries.
In a separate statement Thursday, Canberra said that she was monitoring three Chinese navy ships operating in northeast Australia.
These ships had traveled through Southeast Asia before entering the maritime approaches in Australia, with one of the ships passing through the north of the country, the Ministry of Defense said.
“Australia respects the rights of all states to exercise freedom of navigation and overview in accordance with international law, just as we expect others to respect the law of Australia to do the same,” said -Ali said.
