– If you do not want to marry, terminate your employment contract. I wrote about a Chinese chemical company to my employees. This is a response to the Middle Kingdom’s demographic problems that deepen each year. Employees will have time to change their status until September 30th.
The Chandon Shantian Chemical Group in eastern Shantong has issued a message to employees with information that anyone who is not married will “solve personal issues until September 30th.”

“If you don’t do that until the first quarter, you need to write an automatic reflex. If you fail in the second quarter, the company will rate it. If you don’t want to marry and start a family in the third quarter, the company will end the employment agreement” – the company writes.
This message was directed at people aged 28 to 58. A person was also “duty” after marriage or divorce.
The announcement is to have a wedding and have children, criticizing employees for “they are not responding to public calls.” They were also accused of being “dishonest and disobedient to parenting tips.”
China’s demographic crisis
The call was sent to employees shortly after the Chinese government launched a campaign to marry. In 2024, 6.1 million couples got married, and in 2023 there were 7.68 million couples. In 2013 or 2014, more than 13 million marriages were registered in China.

An audit of officials from the HR and Social Insurance Office was sent after a wave of criticism from employees of the Shandong Shuntian Chemical Group. They said the marriage and horrifying mail news violated China’s labor laws. The company retracted the phone, and one of its employees said in an interview with NBC News that “some words were used inappropriately.” Call could come back, but in a gentle, converted form.
