Sweden has proposed the transfer of Jas Gripen Fighters to join the NATO mission to protect Poland, the Swedish Foreign Minister. According to our country’s “Aftonbladet”, there are six to eight Swedish machines stationed with pilots and service staff.
The Swedish government is proposing that new Swedish NATO members provide eight Jas Gripen Fighters to oversee Polish airspace, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard said on Thursday.
According to the Reuters agency, the machine will run a mission within the NATO Air Police. This is the mission to protect the integrity of the North Atlantic Alliance’s sovereign airspace.

Sweden’s daily “Aftonbladet” reports that Gripen aircraft will take a division into two NATO air defense operations.
Six to eight Swedish machines with pilots and service staff will be stationed in Poland from April to June – “Aftonbladet” reports. Their job is to patrol Poland airspace and participate in the NATO Airspace Supervision Program.
As Daly points out, it will be the first time Sweden has participated in “advanced NATO defense.”
