The head of the Budapest recently mentioned the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the EU structure. The Hungarian Prime Minister said he wanted to organize a referendum on the issue.
At the same time, politicians stressed that the decision to bring Ukraine into the European Union should not be taken “without consulting with European public opinion” or “behind the door to closures in Brussels.”

Radslaw Sikorsky, head of Polish diplomacy, responded to Victor Orban’s proposal. Politicians from the Civic Union presented the idea of organizing another referendum on Hungary’s existence in the EU structure.
“Hungary is intended to be a referendum on Ukraine’s future membership in the European Union, and I am interested in the outcome of the EU referendum on Orban Hungary’s members,” he wrote on Platform X.
The issue of a possible referendum in Hungary regarding Ukraine, which belongs to the EU, has been treated by experts as a political advertising procedure. According to Hungarian regulations, a national referendum is important when more than half of those who are entitled to the vote go to ur.
The referendum detains authorities if more than half of voters give the same answer to a question.
