The nightly protests in Turkey were the aftermath of the detention of Istanbul’s opposition mayor, the screen of Imamogul, and were charged with corruption and terrorist groups.

The biggest threat to Imamoguru Erdogan
Imamogul is considered the biggest threat to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s upcoming elections.
On Sunday, a primary election will be held to select the Republican People’s Party (CHP) opposition candidate as president of the 2028 election. His favourite was Imamoguru, who called his supporters to further protest.
Erdogan won the second round election with CHP candidates two years ago. On Friday, he declared that the government would not give up on “street terrorism.” Turkish authorities ensure that the courts are independent and call the protest irresponsible.
