Two lounges in life costs in a county aimed to raise “the taboo of wanting to save money and to be thrifty,” said their organizer.
Bedford Credit Union is organizing the events of Bedford and Flitwick to help people fight the price increase.
The non -profit community bank, which belongs to its members, will be on site to offer advice, advice and show people how to manage their money, as well as local and national organizations, charitable organizations and other community groups.
Katrina Allen, the bank’s marketing director, said: “It is not only for people on the bread line, it’s for everyone (pinching) in their pockets.”

Allen, said that she wanted events to help anyone seeking to reduce her expenses.
“The cost of living crisis has the impression that it has been going on for a long time, people are still struggling there.
“It is not only to help people with money, credit cooperatives are responsible for preaching savings, but also showing how you can access support and advice.”
A mini free repair workshop will be organized by the Bedford Repair Café and Share: Flitwick & Ampthill, where people can bring broken items to be repaired by volunteers.
Share Bedford and share: Flitwick and Ampthill also manage a library of items that residents can rent for a low amount rather than buying them.
Craft and book exchanges will also be offered.

Citizens’ advice will also assist alongside banks and housing groups, job advice and family support groups.
“It is really a question of raising the taboo of wanting to save money and wanting to be economical, wanting that it is something of which anyone in the city would be proud to be part,” said Allen.
The lounges of the cost of living will take place on March 29 following Harpur, Bedford and April 12 in Parkside Hall, Ampthill.
