Ukraine has destroyed a record number of Russian artillery systems. One day, Moscow lost 122 guns. Kiev estimates that the Kremlin is slowly running out of its weapons.
Ukraine uses increasingly effective systems to detect and destroy Russian cannons, moving the battle to a new level – explaining the American “Forbes.”
Russia one day lost dozens of artillery systems. There’s not a little more in the UK
On Friday, Ukrainian forces announced the destruction of 122 Russian gun systems during the day. “That’s an absolute record,” the newspaper wrote. In total, only in March Moscow lost its gun around 1644.
For comparison, it is estimated that the US only has around 3,000 weapons of this type in its Armory and the UK.

“Forbes” says that although this data is difficult to see, it can be determined that Russia is emptying its warehouse thanks to recordings and satellite photos. Additionally, the Kremlin has begun to buy North Korea’s 170 mm caliber. This could indicate the lack of a unique system.
At the same time, newspapers report that artillery plays a much smaller role in the battlefield right now. Russia uses accurate guided bombs for frontline tactical strokes. Therefore, the main reason may be the destruction of the artillery.
War in Ukraine. Kyiv and Moscow use first war tactics
The Union Agency reports that the main enemy of the artillery system is unmanned aerial vehicles. For some time, however, both Kiev and Moscow have looked at technology first used during World War I. It’s about the acoustic position.
The far-stop microphone was able to record the sound of the shot and determine the position of the weapon with a 10-meter accuracy. The acoustics were then replaced by radar, but now the tactic is back to favor thanks to the latest microphones, efficient processors and artificial intelligence.
The advantage is also low price and detection risk. This method is much cheaper and is invisible to the enemy.
