The public health system's hospitals are recognised as the best for treating illnesses such as heart failure, heart attacks, hip fractures, kidney failure, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

NYC Health + Hospitals today announced that the city's public hospitals have been named to U.S. News & World Report's 2024-2025 “Best Hospitals” list. The rankings recognize hospitals that excel in treating conditions such as heart failure, heart attack, hip fracture, kidney failure, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). These hospitals were selected from nearly 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. Hospitals awarded the “Best” title excel in factors including clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience. U.S. News & World Report's rankings are based on NYC Health + Hospitals' commitment to providing high-quality, comprehensive health care to all New Yorkers.
