The US-based non-governmental organisation World Central Kitchen (WCK) said on Thursday that one of its Palestinian staff members had been killed in Gaza.
WCK identified the man as Nadi Salut and said he was believed to have been killed while off duty on Wednesday near Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. WCK said details were still under investigation.

The Israeli army said it was not aware of any such incident, adding that it was in contact with WCK.
“So far, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is not aware of any incidents in recent days in which its personnel have been harmed in the course of their duties,” the statement said.
In its post on X, WCK described Salute as “a key member of our warehouse team from the early stages of our response at Rafah and a committed humanitarian.”
On April 1, three Israeli airstrikes hit a convoy of aid passing through the Gaza Strip, killing seven WCK staff members, including nationals from the United States, Australia, Britain and Poland. The incident sparked international outrage.
Israel said at the time that it had not deliberately targeted the aid workers and expressed despair at their killings.
