Specialist managing general agent (MGA), Nexus Underwriting, has announced the appointment of Seline Low as its new deputy head of its Asia accident and health (A&H) reinsurance division.
Based in Singapore, Lo will work alongside Justin Yeo, head of A&H Reinsurance, to grow Nexus' presence in the accident and health sector in Asia. He will be focused on expanding the broker network in the region and driving profitable growth.
Stuart Rouse, Group CEO of Nexus Group, expressed his enthusiasm about Low's appointment, saying: “We are thrilled that Celine is joining our team. Her extensive expertise and industry insight will be invaluable as we continue to expand our footprint in Asia. We are committed to providing profitable underwriting and strong support to our clients, brokers and insurer partners. Asia is a vital market for us and with Celine on board we are well positioned to enhance our service offering and build even stronger relationships within the industry.”
Yeo added: “We are delighted to welcome Seline to the team. She has a wealth of experience in the sector and will hit the ground running, working with our existing brokers and building new relationships. Her ability to deliver excellent service levels is well aligned with Nexus' ethos and we look forward to seeing our product and market position develop with Seline playing a key role.”
Mr. Lo has extensive experience as a product manager for consumer insurance and as a senior underwriter for accident and health insurance.
She joins Nexus from Chubb, where she spent six years as product manager for bancassurance in Asia Pacific. Prior to that, she spent nearly six years as a senior underwriter in Zurich Insurance's A&H division. Low has also held senior roles at AIA, AIG and Mercer.
Commenting on his new role, Lo said: “This is an exciting moment in my career. I have gained extensive experience in the sector and see this as a great opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team that is committed to high quality underwriting, carrier management and driving this business forward. Accident and health insurance is an ever-present business area that is constantly evolving and policies are becoming increasingly personalised. I am excited to see where the next few years and beyond take us.”
