Vice President Kamala Harris led the betting for the first time since being elevated to the top of the nomination list.
An average of bets released Thursday by Real Clear Politics gives Harris a 50.7% chance of being elected president, while former President Donald Trump has a 47.9% chance of winning the election.
Thursday marked the first day that Harris was bet on to win the election, and also the first day that the Democratic candidate was priced ahead of Trump since May 1, when President Biden was still campaigning. On that day, the Real Clear Politics betting average had Biden ahead by a slim margin, 42.3% to 42.2%.

Since that day, Trump has continued to widen the gap between him and Biden, with his approval rating peaking at 66.2% on July 15th.
But in the weeks since Biden decided to drop out of the race and endorse Harris, Trump's lead has steadily shrunk, and Harris quickly secured the Democratic nomination.
Trump's chances of victory reached a fever pitch on Thursday, just days after Harris added Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to her list of running mates, a move her campaign believes will help her solidify support in key Midwestern battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Harris was leading or tied with Trump on Thursday in every major betting market tracked by Real Clear Politics. Her biggest lead was with Predictit, a popular New Zealand-based prediction marketplace that offers “shares” of political outcomes.
As of Thursday morning, Harris' shares were selling for 57 cents on the platform while Trump's were selling for 46 cents, giving the vice president an 11 cent lead. Shares on the platform are trading between $0.01 and $0.99, meaning the price of the shares essentially represents the percentage probability of a particular outcome occurring.

The betting swing coincided with Harris also overtaking Trump in many national polls, topping the Real Clear Politics polling average for the first time on Monday. The lead marks the first time the presumptive Democratic nominee has had an advantage since Biden led 44.5% to 44.3% on Sept. 11 of last year.
Neither the Trump campaign nor the Harris campaign immediately responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
