Logan Moffitt has loved cucumbers since he was a child. As a child, he used to bring a whole cucumber in his lunch box. The Ottawa, Canada resident began sharing cucumber recipe videos on TikTok in 2021, which have become a hot topic. He currently has 4.3 million followers. Two of his most popular videos are one in which he eats cucumbers on a jet ski and another in which he makes a cucumber salad while treading water. Now, at 23 years old, he wants to try new flavors and cucumber recipes.
Logan Moffitt's favorite cucumbers are English, but he also likes Persian and Korean cucumbers (yes, he can tell the difference between them).
The Ottawa, Canada resident, known on TikTok as @logagm, has been obsessed with cucumbers since he was a kid. He recalls adding a cucumber to a meal if it seemed like it lacked vegetables. In high school, he always packed a whole cucumber in his lunch because he didn't have the energy to cut it. He would season it with salt and pepper from a plastic bag he brought with him.
Moffitt's love for the crunchy vegetable is longstanding, but sharing that passion on social media is new: Since she started posting about cucumbers on TikTok in 2021, specifically about creative cucumber salad recipes, she's gained more than 4.3 million followers. But Moffitt says this is just the beginning.
“Cucumbers are a lifestyle,” Moffitt, 23, told People magazine in an exclusive interview. “I want to get as many people as possible eating cucumbers because they're so good for you and they taste great and they make a healthy snack.”
When asked what his second favorite vegetable is, he answered onions, then, “Oh, I was going to say cherry tomatoes, but those are a fruit, right?”

Most of Moffitt's cucumber salad recipes are his own. Each recipe takes about 10 minutes to make, and many of the easy recipes use ingredients that he has on hand. One of his favorite recipes is an avocado, salmon, cream cheese, bagel, and cucumber salad. Every time he eats this salad, he thinks, “Wow, that's delicious.”
He often finds inspiration for new recipes by scrolling through TikTok and watching other cooking videos. So far, none of Moffitt's creations have disappointed: He's discovered that “cucumber goes with everything.”
“So I usually turn other foods into cucumber salads,” he explains. “For example, I made an avocado bagel into a cucumber salad. Today I made a jalapeño popper cucumber salad. I'll turn random foods into cucumber salads.”
Moffitt also gets recipe ideas from the comments on his posts, and one he'd like to try is Mexican Street Corn Cucumbers.
When Moffitt started his first videos on TikTok with the format “Sometimes You Just Have to Eat a Whole Cucumber,” he was just doing it for fun. After realizing that people liked it, he decided to post a few more videos with the same format. From there, he watched it grow and grow.
Two of his most popular videos are one in which he eats cucumbers while riding a jet ski and one in which he makes cucumber salad while treading water.
“'I Have to Eat a Whole Cucumber' became a hit, so I jumped on board,” he added. “The comments are usually really funny. In one video, a guy joked that I'm not only the 'cucumber guy' but also the 'kimchi guy' and the 'cold noodle guy,' and he happens to be the cucumber guy. I love reading the funny jokes my viewers make.”
Moffitt said that before the series, he was a frequent cucumber eater, but with the increased interest from his followers, he now eats at least two a day.
“I used to buy three to six cucumbers at a time, but now I'm increasing that number. I just posted a grocery shopping video the other day where I bought 15 cucumbers,” he says. “Thankfully, I order through Instacart so I don't have to deal with anybody when I go to buy 15 cucumbers, which is a good thing.”
Now, he continues to explore new recipes and share them with his fans, and is interested in trying an entirely new flavor category using vegetables.
“I'm thinking about trying cucumbers for dessert,” he says. “The first thing I want to try is peanut butter and jam. I spread it on cucumber slices and it was delicious, so I'm thinking about doing a whole cucumber salad in the same way.”
