The creation of an immersive experience themed around The Lion King, alongside Avengers Campus and World of Frozen, a Frozen themed area scheduled to open in 2026, is a testament to our commitment to immerse our guests in breathtaking adventures inspired by their favorite films, at the heart of themed areas faithful to the source material. Inspired by the unforgettable story that has captivated generations of audiences, this new area is unlike anything else in the world. “Guests of all ages will be able to fulfill one of their biggest dreams: exploring the Pride Lands with all their favorite characters,” said Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris.
“Inspired by the African savannah and iconic locations from the franchise, this new area will push the boundaries of immersion with unparalleled levels of detail and new, unique attractions that seamlessly blend cutting-edge Audio-Animatronics® technology with spectacular aquatic experiences. Imagineers came up with the perfect way to advance Disney's unique storytelling tradition. Scheduled to begin construction next year, Pride Lands near Adventure Bay will take the resort's ongoing transformation to new heights.
“From the moment the sun rose on the big screen in cinemas around the world, audiences were captivated by the story of The Lion King and its characters, and it hasn't slowed down since. As Imagineers, our goal is to translate the emotional core of the film in this exciting project and to allow people to relive those feelings by experiencing this unique attraction. We are delighted and thrilled that The Lion King will be making its attraction debut here at Disneyland Paris,” said Michel Den Dalck, Portfolio Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.
