This is an opinion piece.
To be honest, the Republicans have averted a crisis. Comrade Harris' choice of VP candidate, Minnesota Governor Tom Walz (who hates Vikings, erm, did I say that out loud?), is not helping her at all. Well, it will solidify her radical left base if she wants to. Instead of fielding a centrist and reaching out to the middle of America (not the Midwest) and winning over independents, the Republicans (in my personal opinion, because she didn't do this alone) have decided to go with another pretender, a radical leftist in sheep's clothing.
Evidence 1 – Walz likes to pretend he supports the Second Amendment, but the NRA says he’s a fake. It’s ironic, anyway. Harris picked someone who claims to be pro-gun, gun-using, and shooting, but her radical left supporters are totally against gun ownership outside of big government (so they can’t rebel…). I find that so ridiculous and totally hypocritical, and I know he’ll drop those talking points if he wins. (Note that she’s assuming she’ll be the nominee…so much for democracy under the Democrats.)
Evidence 2 – She picked an old white guy from liberal Minnesota, which means she's not good at chess. She already won Minnesota, so her choice doesn't get her any electoral votes. She could have picked Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, who she must win, but from what I read, apparently the radical left on her team thought he was too moderate, maybe too smart, and she would look stupid in comparison. She needed a slow, unintelligent old guy to make herself look young and presidential. I don't expect this Waltz guy to run for president in 8 years…Similarly, I would have considered Evers of Wisconsin if he was good at chess, because this whole race hinges on winning Wisconsin. Whoever wins Wisconsin gets the electoral votes. But again, that didn't happen.
Evidence 3 – There is no other state more liberal than Minnesota. It is almost as rampant with crazy, ridiculous ideas as California. Minnesota is about the same size as Wisconsin, but is highly concentrated in the Twin Cities, which means the majority of the state’s population lives in two large cities. We all know that the longer you live in a large city, the more likely you are to be liberal.
The state has a huge government bureaucracy, large national corporations (Target, 3M, etc.), and plenty of extremism as evidenced by the many protests that have taken place there. Wisconsin, by comparison, has a more spread out population, two much smaller cities, and 15,000 lakes (Minnesota has 10,000). Not only does Wisconsin beat Minnesota in football, but Wisconsin also wins. Ha! Beat the Vikings!
They didn't pick Shapiro because he is considered a moderate. Well, I take that message at face value. The message of not picking him is that Harris and the Politico that manipulates her and Biden are not looking for a moderate, they are looking for a far left. They are looking for someone older who can compete with Harris, not a young, smart person from a must-win state for Harris. No no. That tells us all we need to know. Harris and her puppeteers will continue the far left policies of the failed Biden-Harris administration.
Meanwhile, Shapiro is for school aid! No way! And he's pro-Israel! Oh my goodness. The left can't do that. They worship the American pro-Palestinian lobby. Jews across America, wake up! Harris has abandoned her running for vice president in favor of not showing favoritism towards Israel. This should be a big wake-up call.
In fact, who Harris didn't pick says more about her and her entourage than who she did pick. Choosing Waltz is like choosing plain vanilla ice cream: It's easy, it's safe, it's an old favorite so you probably won't be disappointed, but it's also boring. There were plenty of other delicious flavors to try, but not Harris. She didn't want to risk appearing better than she was.
Evidence 4 – The Wall Street Journal did a great job on the difference in the financial situations of the two vice presidents. Waltz is practically bankrupt and has lived off the government his whole life. And all of his retirement savings will go into the taxpayers wallet. I don’t understand why anyone would want this loser running the country. The guy has had zero personal success outside of politics, but liberals love bigwigs who are loyal to the government. JD Vance, on the other hand, embodies the American Dream, coming from nothing, working hard, building a future, and becoming a successful businessman and billionaire. Vance knows what it’s like to go up against a huge government bureaucracy, and Vance is the one signing the front of the checks. Vance is also definitely not a career politician compared to someone you know.
This race is getting more intense and intriguing with every passing week, and it all comes down to the on-the-ground politics of who can turn out the most voters, and the questions of whether there will be fraud.
So Republicans need to go out and try harder!
P.S. And Mr. Vance, don't forget Dane County. We need 23% of the votes in Dane County to win the state, so don't ignore us. If you want to help, contact the Dane County Republican Party or donate online. It's all about Wisconsin. It's all about Wisconsin.
