The court did not accept the appeal of the defense lawyers regarding the two-month conditional arrest of Janusz Palikot. But it accepted the prosecutor's appeal, which means the former businessman and politician will remain in custody without the possibility of paying bail.
On October 5, the court suspended Janusz Palikot for two months. According to this decision, the ex-lawyer can be released from prison after paying a bail of one million zlotys. The bail must be submitted to the court by October 31. Palikot's defense attorney, Jasek Dubois, said that his client could not afford such a high bail and announced that he would appeal the amount. During the detention hearing, the prosecutor also objected to this court ruling, because he did not want to release him from the detention center on bail.
