At Kontakt24, we received a recording showing a large herd of bison that was passing by the side of the road yesterday near the town of Szudzialów (Podlaski Voivodeship). Among them there were people of different ages, including young people who bravely ran together with adults.
Not a first date
The situation was immortalized by Reporter24 Mr. Antony. The video shows that the animals crossed the road for about a minute and a half, forcing the drivers to stop for a moment.
– Yesterday, at approximately 1:30 p.m., I saw a herd of Podlasie bisons passing along the icy road. I photograph these animals, so this was not my first encounter with them, – explained the user of the Internet. He added that drivers are careful on the road. – They stopped both on one side and on the other side. The herd went safely to the other side, he said.

Bison in Poland
The European bison (Bos bonasus) is the largest land mammal in Europe. According to the Bison Breeding Book, at the end of 2023 there were 2,820 individuals living in Poland, of which 2,626 were in the wild. Most bison live in northeastern Poland, in the forests of Bielowieza, Knyszynska and Borecka, but large herds also live in the Bieszczady Mountains and the western regions of the country.
